This position is located in the Bureau of Library and Information Services (DCOMM/INFORM) which is mandated to provide information services, and relevant and up-to-date information to ILO staff at headquarters and in the field, ILO constituents, researchers, practitioners, and the general public. The incumbent will be responsible for the execution of the mandate of the Client Services Section of the Bureau of Library and Information Services and is expected to contribute his or her expertise in addition to his or her management responsibilities. The Client Services Section is responsible for the delivery of the Bureau's direct services to clients inside and outside the ILO. The incumbent reports to the Chief of the Bureau.
Requisitos: 
Education: Advanced university degree, or a first level degree and a recognised professional qualification, in library or information science or other closely related field. Experience: Ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in library work or information network administration of which six years at international level. Experience in the management of functional areas of library work and in the management of projects and staff. Languages: Excellent command of one working language and good knowledge of another. Knowledge of other official languages would be an advantage. Competencies: Advanced knowledge of automated information systems applicable to libraries or information networks. Advanced knowledge of library science and information services standards, rules, practices and techniques. Thorough knowledge of the work of the organization. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent leadership and negotiating skills. Proven ability in the management of staff as well as of complex technical projects. Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to provide authoritative advice. Ability to work on own initiative as well as to lead groups or cooperate as a team member. The ability to work in a multicultural environment and gender-sensitive behaviour and attitudes are also required.
