Collection management: assist library management including technical book and journal services and document delivery; provide search assistance to library users System librarian: (a) technical maintenance and further development of a specialized library database (Sybase/MySQL database with PHP-based user interface); porting to Drupal (open source content management system) (b) coordinate migration of the current library management system to an open source library system and implement a federated search system (c) migrate existing library web pages to a Content Management System (CMS) in compliance with ESO standards (d) coordinate library digitization projects, provide quality control of metadata Research, propose and implement solutions and innovations for the continued optimization of library systems.

Your responsibility will be to manage the project, working closely with the scientific, technical and administrative coordinators of the project by supporting the effective collaboration of all partners, across organisational and technological developments and a broad scale advocacy and awareness programme.
